Breathing Focus

Objectives: Faster group main set focus is breath control.
Slower group focus is breathing technique.

Set 1 - Warm-up; Dist =400
1 X 400 Freestyle Swim - Cat: build to EN2

Set 2 - Kick & Swim; Dist=400
8 X 50 fins optional: 25 kick hard in torpedo posture + 25 FS recovery pace (no rest at the walls)

Faster GroupSlower Group

Set 3 Conditioning; Dist = 2400
All 200s, all with 20 secs rest
Focus on breathing with one goggle in the water, one out

4 X 200 B2 or B4
4 X 200 B3 or B5
4 X 200 B3B2

Set 3 Drills & Conditioning; Dist = 1600
Drilling or swimming, always breathe to same side of bldg

With fins: drill for one-half of a length, then FS to wall:
4 X 50 Side balance, then FS
4 X 50 kick in 11-position, then FS
No fins:
6 X 200 FS +20 secs rest

 

Set 4 - Cool-down; Dist = 400
1 X 400 Freestyle Swim - Cat: REC
Recovery with focus on relaxed 6-beat (or 2-beat) kick

Total 3600 / 2800
