Problem: Late Breathing

Breathing late or taking too long to breathe disrupts balance and timing. It slams on the brakes.

All of the Breakwater swimmers on this page swim very well. These still shots are anomalies. Their breathing is normally seamless, with the leading arm extended out front, and very little of the head out of the water.

But here the leading arm goes too deep, legs splay out, bodies stall.

On video clips of these swimmers, you would see that each one of them swims through a very small column of water, even when breathing - but every now and then even the best of us mess up!

I put these shots here to illustrate that even strong swimmers always need to be mindful, and always need to work on maintaining good form, on every single stroke, and especially on every single breathing stroke.
