Skill & Clips Rating Observations

Posture
Coaching clip

4 Good posture but hips seem to drop from time to time - maybe due to a relaxed chest-hip connection? or to a slight stalling action while breathing.
Breathing
Coaching clip
3 Good but a little late or slow, which I think is causing you to stall and sink slightly.
Rotation
Coaching clip
4 Good rotation to both sides.
Arms
Coaching clip
3 Extension: Good extension but perhaps a little too close to the surface.
Catch: Good catch but elbow could be higher in the water
Pull: Good long pull - but because of the deep elbow catch maybe pulling the hips down a bit.
Recovery: Good straight-ahead recovery - but hands could be entered at a slightly sharper angle to get you on your side just a bit more at full extension.
Kick
Coaching clip
4 2-Beat: Not observed.
6-Beat: Good timing and coordination with arm stroke and rotation.

Recommendations

Priority
Recommendation
1
Breathing. It either begins a bit late or takes a bit too long. The result is that you have a slight stalling motion when breathing - and that disrupts your timing and has you pulling too deep in the water. I think if you just focus on rolling your face to the air sooner in the breathing cycle, and getting a quick breath, that might clear up your other minor problems as well.
2
Arms. Try entering the hands at a slightly sharper angle, so that your arm is at shoulder depth when you reach full extension.
3
Kick. For longer distances, you may want to develop a 2-beat kick (in addition to the 6-beat kick).
