Observations |
|
Posture
Coaching
clip
|
4 |
Your posture
is pretty good. Getting your head down when not breathing will make
it even better. |
Breathing
Coaching

2 |
Your leading
arm gets deep in the water while you breathe. This gives up stroke
length and makes you work harder to get it out from that depth. |
Rotation
Coaching
clip |
2 |
Not enough
rotation - you are pushing water down for much of your stroke cycle. |
Arms

Extension: Pretty
good extension, but when fully extended hand should be at shoulder
depth (not so close to the surface) and there should be a distinct
glide. |
| Catch: Your
catch is not well separated from your pull. You are pulling back on
your elbow before your hand and forearm are anchored, and this gives
up some stroke length. |
| Pull: Your
pull is briefly effective, but would be much more effective with an
early vertical forearm catch. |
| Recovery: Your
hand angles slightly in front of your head. Try to track straight
ahead with your hands. |
Kick

| 6-Beat: Very
nice 6-beat kick. You may want to develop a 2-beat kick as well when
you start swimming longer distances. |

Recommendations
|
Priority
|
Recommendation |
|
1
|
Rotation. Work on snapping onto your side for each stroke.
You need to rotate your hips to at least 45 . |
|
2
|
Breathing. Leave your lower arm extended
while breathing. Avoid the impulse to press down on the water or pull
back while still breathing. |
|
3
|
Arms. Introduce some glide into your stroke at full
extension. This will allow you to get an early vertical forearm catch,
and a longer (and more efficient) stroke. |
